What Are Ethics?

In Al Capp's comic strip "Lil Abner", Mammy Yokum was once asked why good was any better than evil. She put it this way: "Why that's simple! Good's better than evil, because good's nicer."

This is an open forum dedicated to the elucidation of the good.

It is easy to see how people might cooperate to combine their strength, wealth, or voting power. Yet in a world where so much depends on our ability to make decisions, the ability to combine our wisdom isour most important resource.

Accordingly, we're open to all participants willing to agree to function in the spirit of equality, mutual respect, shared decision making, and individual responsibility. No further qualification is necessary.
